Shin Kong Life Insurance Won the First Place in the National Awards and Was Recognized with Three Major Awards in the National Brand Yushan Award

The 21st "National Brand Yushan Award" held its award ceremony on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. This year, the number of entries broke the record, totaling nearly 500 entries. Shin Kong Life Insurance, a subsidiary of Shin Kong Financial Holdings (2888), stood out from the many participating companies and won the "Best Product Award" for its "Shin Kong Life Stable Profit Foreign Currency Investment-Linked Annuity Insurance" and the "Best Popular Brand Award" and "National First Prize" for its "Dajia Mazu International Tourism and Cultural Festival Event Project". It is clear that Shin Kong Life Insurance is deeply favored by consumers and professional judges in terms of corporate brand image, local roots, green finance and product development.

Given that climate change has long-term and far-reaching impacts on sustainable development, Shin Kong Life Insurance has adapted to the development trend of green finance. In accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Principles for Sustainable Insurance (PSI), the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and domestic sustainability policies, it has incorporated ESG issues into product development considerations and launched Taiwan's first investment-based insurance policy linked to an ESG overseas structured product, the "Wanli Foreign Currency Investment-Linked Annuity Insurance." This product aims to balance insurance protection, sustainable investment and environmental protection, encouraging policyholders to change their consumption behavior and thereby achieve the net-zero goal of green finance.

The "Wen Wanli Foreign Currency Investment-Linked Annuity Insurance" combines green bond investments guaranteed by BNP Paribas with a tree planting program, integrating environmental protection factors into insurance product and investment decision-making, providing the public with a socially responsible investment tool. For every US$10,000 invested by Shin Kong Life policyholders, BNP Paribas will plant a tree in Aceh, Sumatra, Indonesia. During the fundraising period, 6,590 trees were planted for policyholders, creating an estimated 19,770 animal habitats. This commitment to protecting the environment through reforestation and sustainable investment demonstrates the power of sustainable investment, earning the company the "Best Product Award" at this year's event.

Shin Kong Life Insurance, with 61 years of deep roots in Taiwan and nationwide operations, is a long-standing and reliable community partner, committed to supporting important local folk festivals and connecting with local residents. Starting in 2021, for the fourth consecutive year, Shin Kong Life Insurance will partner with the Dajia Jenn Lan Temple in Taichung City to participate in the "Dajia Mazu International Tourism and Cultural Festival." This diverse approach gives back to the local community, fosters community awareness, stimulates the local economy, and promotes sustainable social development. It is estimated that the 2024 "Dajia Mazu International Tourism and Cultural Festival" will exceed 3 million attendees, breaking the 37-year record for the festival and generating over NT$5 billion in economic output.

Along the 300-kilometer journey, Shin Kong Life's local business units deployed floats with their mascots, Jinbao, Yuanbao, and Guabao, to protect devotees along the way. They also set up service booths to offer encouragement, distribute supplies, and giveaways like "Mazu Fortune-Bringing Thermos Bottles," co-designed with the Dajia Jenn Lan Temple. Additionally, each year, employees from across the country form their own teams to participate in the procession, praying for individuals, families, and policyholders. Through this partnership, Shin Kong Life has gained significant brand exposure and positive recognition, earning it the "Most Popular Brand Award" and "National First Prize."

Shin Kong Life Insurance adheres to the sustainable values of its parent company, Shin Kong Financial Holdings, of "Low Carbon, Innovation, and Common Good," and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Shin Kong Life Insurance has been selected as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) for three consecutive years, achieving second place globally and first place in Asia in the insurance category. Shin Kong Life Insurance will continue to expand its corporate influence and create a better and more sustainable environment for society.
