Shin Kong Life Insurance, a subsidiary of Shin Kong Financial Holdings (2888), and National Chung Cheng University signed a memorandum of understanding on industry-university cooperation on March 21. Shin Kong Life Insurance Chairman Wei Baosheng and National Chung Cheng University Vice President Zhan Shengru represented the signing parties, announcing that the two parties will actively collaborate in the future to establish a platform for talent cultivation that connects practice and academia. The goal is to narrow the gap between learning and application, provide students with practical courses, corporate visits, internships and graduate employment opportunities, so that students can connect with the workplace early and achieve the goal of integrating learning and application. Shin Kong Life Insurance will also meet the diverse talent needs of the insurance industry through the development of talents and cross-disciplinary generalists through National Chung Cheng University's "Bauhinia Non-Departmental Bachelor's Degree Program." The two parties look forward to jointly nurturing future industry development energy and working together to create a higher-quality financial and insurance environment.

Established in 2022, the Bauhinia Unified Departmental Program at National Chung Cheng University aims to cultivate cross-disciplinary and leadership talent with specialized expertise. It emphasizes a broad range of academic disciplines and core competencies, advocates diverse learning and cross-disciplinary integration, and champions self-management and lifelong learning. The program offers a unified curriculum from freshman to senior year, encouraging students to explore and learn across various colleges and departments, choosing the professional path that best suits them. Chairman Wei Baosheng, also an adjunct professor at the Bauhinia Unified Departmental Program, has taught the "Sustainable and Innovative Management" course for two consecutive semesters.

In recent years, the insurance industry has seen an increasing demand for talent in various fields. In addition to professionals in actuarial science, information technology, risk management, financial investment, and other fields, with the advent of the AI digital age, the industry also has a high demand for digital management and ESG corporate sustainability talents.Shin Kong Life Insurance is well aware that only by integrating cross-disciplinary talents with logical thinking, innovation, and the ability to solve pain points can a company seize the initiative in a highly competitive environment. To help students navigate the global digital landscape, Chairman Bao-Sheng Wei not only spearheaded a collaboration between Shin Kong Life Insurance and National Chung Cheng University, but also, starting in 2022, has personally shared his extensive work experience at the university, inviting experts in finance and AI technology to contribute to its curriculum. He also donated NT$1 million to the university, dedicating his utmost dedication to nurturing talent in the academic field. On the same day as the signing of the memorandum of understanding for industry-university collaboration, National Chung Cheng University presented a special trophy of appreciation to the chairman, presented by Jun-Yi Chen, Director of Bachelor Program in Interdisciplinary Studies, in recognition of his continued support and dedication.

In addition, due to the enthusiastic feedback from students in the past, Chairman Bao-Sheng Wei once again invited Dr. Alicia Garcia Herrero, Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis, and Jian-Wei Xu, Senior Economist for Asia Pacific, to hold a lecture on "Analyzing the Global and Regional Economy" in the International Conference Hall of National Chung Cheng University. The lecture provided students with an in-depth analysis of global macroeconomic trends and future challenges of regional economies, hoping to provide students with a deeper perspective so that they can respond flexibly to rapidly changing market challenges and make more forward-looking decisions in the future.
