Stepping into the Frontline of Insurance: Shin Kong Life Joins Hands with Lunghwa UST to Build AI Co-Learning, with Students Teaching AI and Enterprises Cultivating Talent, Creating a New Paradigm for Industry-Academia Cooperation

In response to the rapid development of generative AI and the digital transformation trend in the financial and insurance industry, Shin Kong Life, a subsidiary of TS Holdings (2887), partnered with Lunghwa University of Science and Technology this year to promote the "AI Instructor Industry-Academia Cooperation Project," holding an achievement presentation on June 29. During the event, representatives from various Shin Kong Life branch offices and participating students shared their AI application results and learning experiences, showcasing the fruitful achievements of enterprises and schools joining forces to promote AI talent cultivation and foster enterprise digital empowerment, while establishing a new paradigm of industry-academia cooperation for the insurance industry.

This project was jointly collaborated on by Shin Kong Life and the Department of Digital Marketing and Cross-Border Commerce of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, taking the actual working contexts of frontline business units as its core. It trained students to serve as AI instructors, assisting life insurance business colleagues in learning to use generative AI tools such as NotebookLM, Gemini, and ChatGPT, and planning curriculum content and practical drills according to business needs. Through one-on-one companionship, situational guidance, and operational practice, it guided colleagues in integrating AI into their daily workflow, effectively enhancing work efficiency, optimizing customer service quality, and strengthening digital application capabilities, allowing AI to become an important catalyst for boosting business competitiveness.

The greatest feature of this collaboration lies in the establishment of an innovative industry-academia cooperation model featuring "students teach, enterprises learn." After completing systematic AI training within the campus, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology students actually entered various Shin Kong Life branch offices to serve as AI instructors, utilizing what they learned to assist business colleagues in mastering generative AI applications. Colleagues shared that after learning to use AI tools, they could quickly produce presentations, animations, and images, more efficiently assisting clients with policy planning and making protection content, product comparisons, and insurance service information clearer and easier to understand, thereby enhancing communication quality and service efficiency.

On the other hand, in the process of accompanying colleagues in learning AI, students also gained a deep understanding of the operations of the life insurance industry, talent demands, and future career directions, while cultivating workplace communication, presentation expression, and business marketing skills through practical exchanges. It is worth mentioning that with the encouragement and assistance of Shin Kong Life business colleagues, several participating AI instructors have already obtained their life insurance sales representative qualifications, fully demonstrating the concrete results of industry-academia cooperation in cultivating cross-disciplinary talent.

Ge Zi-xiang, President of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, stated that AI has profoundly changed the direction of industrial development and talent cultivation. He affirmed Shin Kong Life's forward-looking vision in investing in frontline AI application promotion, which enabled students to apply what they learned in the classroom to corporate fields, while deepening their understanding of the financial and insurance industry through the process of assisting life insurance business colleagues in learning AI. This truly implements the integration of learning and application, highlighting the important value of industry-academia cooperation in cultivating cross-disciplinary talent.

Lin Li-ye, Vice President of Shin Kong Life, stated that this collaboration symbolizes that corporate AI talent cultivation has moved from unidirectional learning to a new stage of bidirectional co-creation. In the future, the company will continue to assist various business units in deepening generative AI applications through experience transmission and exchange sharing, driving more business colleagues to make good use of AI to enhance work efficacy. This will form a diffusion effect from points to surfaces, and from individuals to teams, providing clients with higher quality and more efficient insurance planning and services.

Shin Kong Life is long committed to sustainable talent cultivation. Facing the wave of AI, the company will continue to combine corporate practices with academic innovation energy in the future to cultivate cross-disciplinary talent equipped with both insurance professionalism and AI application capabilities. It will also continue to deepen the AI instructor project, joining hands with academia to jointly build a smart financial future.
