Shin Kong Life's "Old Clothes Reborn, Let the Light Circulate" Wins Bronze at the 2025 Golden Eagle Awards
The 9th "2025 Taipei Golden Eagle Micro-movie Festival," organized by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), officially announced its list of winners at an award ceremony held during the SDG Asia exhibition on September 12. Shin Kong Life's entry, "Old Clothes Reborn, Let the Light Circulate," stood out among 173 competing works from 150 industry, government, academic, and research institutes across Taiwan to win the Bronze "Golden Eagle Award." This highly affirms Shin Kong Life's outstanding achievements in practicing the corporate common good and promoting a new business model that simultaneously advances the circular economy and public welfare.
Organized by TAISE, the "Taipei Golden Eagle Micro-movie Festival" is Taiwan's largest sustainable film festival, utilizing visual language to promote public understanding and resonance with sustainability issues. Through the micro-movie format, Shin Kong Life's "Old Clothes Reborn, Let the Light Circulate" illustrates the company's collaboration with the zero-waste fashion brand "Story Wear" and the "Syinlu Social Welfare Foundation." Together, they called upon policyholders and the public to participate in a discarded jeans recycling project. Embracing the concept of remaking old clothes, the recycled jeans were handed over to women re-entering the workforce to be upcycled into fashion items, which were then used for charity fundraising. This initiative implements the circular economy, supports local products and services, cares for socially disadvantaged groups, and simultaneously creates more local employment opportunities, working alongside stakeholders to drive sustainable financial development.
With "Low Carbon, Innovation, and Common Good" as its core sustainability strategy, Shin Kong Life has long been committed to practicing inclusive finance and sustainable value. Since 2023, through matchmaking by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), the company has responded to the "CSB" (Cultural Content, Social Impact, Business Value) concept by launching a series of cultural cooperation projects with profound social impact. In addition to the aforementioned "Old Clothes Reborn, Let the Light Circulate" public welfare project, Shin Kong Life also partnered with the Toung Niao Social Enterprise to develop the "Wealth Goalkeeper" and "Golden Shield Guardian" board game courses. Using interactive gaming, they entered school campuses to promote financial education, strengthen students' resilience against financial risks, build a sound and equitable financial ecosystem, and implement corporate sustainable management.
Looking ahead, Shin Kong Life will continue to leverage its core financial functions and exert its corporate influence across all levels. By actively implementing ESG principles, creating positive impacts on the environment and society, and echoing the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the company strives to become a benchmark enterprise in sustainable management.
