Shin Kong Life Chairman Leads Corporate Volunteers to Promote Sports Equality, Accompanying the Visually Impaired to "Hear" the Excitement of Baseball Together

Shin Kong Life has long implemented ESG initiatives and strongly supported various sports activities. To promote sports equality and practice the spirit of inclusion, on September 28, it partnered with the Love Infinite Public Welfare and Charity Development Association and the TSG Group to jointly invite 80 visually impaired friends and their companions to watch a game at the Taipei Dome. Led by Shin Kong Life Chairman Wei Pao-sheng, corporate volunteers used their voices and actions to serve, accompanying the visually impaired to "hear" the tension and excitement of baseball.

The Love Infinite Social Enterprise began when its founder, Ms. Chang Ya-ju, suffered a car accident at the age of 17, resulting in paralysis from the neck down. Becoming a person with disabilities, she has had to rely on a wheelchair for life. Because of her personal experience, she saw the needs of people with disabilities, which led to the establishment of the "Love Infinite Social Enterprise" and her dedication to the "audio description for the visually impaired" service. She hopes that by overcoming her own physical limitations, she can help more people overcome life's obstacles and live wonderful lives.

According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the number of people with disabilities in Taiwan exceeds 1.22 million. Shin Kong Life actively implements the fair treatment of customers and strongly promotes friendliness towards various disadvantaged groups with disabilities. Not only in financial services—by creating the country's first "Comprehensive Visually Impaired-Friendly Service Solution for Financial and Insurance Providers," allowing visually impaired friends to easily access insurance services in a safe and convenient environment—but also on a public welfare level, through the companionship of corporate volunteers. This gives the visually impaired the opportunity to experience diverse sports activities such as road running and watching baseball, conveying the warmth and power of barrier-free sports, and realizing sports equality for people with disabilities.

Chang Ya-ju, Chairperson of the Love Infinite Public Welfare and Charity Development Association, stated, "As soon as registration opened for this 'Listening to Professional Baseball - Watching the Game with Ears' experience event, it was instantly fully booked. It can be seen that for the visually impaired, being able to walk into the Taipei Dome to listen to baseball is a rare life experience." In addition, the accompanying corporate volunteers also shared touchingly, "Seeing them listen attentively to the game's audio description, chanting slogans along with the cheering squads on-site, and responding enthusiastically, I was truly moved."

Shin Kong Life has long collaborated with the Love Infinite Social Enterprise. It not only invited Ms. Chang Ya-ju to serve as a columnist for Shin Kong Life's policyholder quarterly magazine but also conducted a national life education touring lecture series. It is hoped that through her life journey, the public will be reminded of the importance of personal risk management. Shin Kong Life also once again reminds the public that Taiwan has entered a super-aged society and an era of zero caregivers. By making early policy planning in advance, one can alleviate the problems of having no relatives for care and the financial pressure when risks occur, taking care of one's future in advance and becoming one's own most reassuring support.
