Shin Kong Life APP Passes Visually Impaired-Friendly Dual-System Certification, Leading the Promotion of Digital Equality in the Insurance Industry

Shin Kong Life, a subsidiary of TS Holdings (2887), is committed to implementing the fair treatment of customers. By consistently addressing customer pain points based on user needs, it makes insurance services warmer and more valuable. Its mobile application, the "Shin Kong Life APP," recently officially passed the visually impaired-friendly dual-system certification by the Taipei Parents' Association for the Visually Impaired. It has become the first insurance provider to complete multi-functional integration and pass the visually impaired-friendly test for dual systems, continuing to set new milestones in the fields of inclusive finance and digital equality.

In the past, visually impaired individuals often faced obstacles when using digital financial and insurance services due to insufficient voice prompts or inconsistent operational sequences. To improve these pain points, Shin Kong Life has continuously absorbed policyholder feedback and collaborated with external professional teams. It conducted a comprehensive optimization of areas such as policy inquiries and coverage details, health management, policy-related functions, audio guides for member login and verification processes, as well as overall operational flows and progress prompt voices. This ensures that visually impaired users can independently complete necessary insurance operations without visual assistance.

Shin Kong Life currently has over a million online members who can use the APP. With the number of users continuously rising and gaining the trust of policyholders, this year the company launched four major optimized updates for the APP. These include adding complete alternative text for images, buttons, and links so that screen reading software can accurately identify them; ensuring that pop-up windows and menu designs conform to operational logic while rearranging the read-aloud sequence; and simultaneously integrating iOS and Android systems with screen reading functions to provide friendly operational guidance for the visually impaired. The goal is to make the APP closer to policyholders in every aspect and become the best partner in guarding the public.

The comprehensive optimization of the Shin Kong Life APP's main functional audio guides and operational processes has been certified by the Taipei Parents' Association for the Visually Impaired. This included completing real-device testing on both iOS (VoiceOver) and Android (TalkBack) dual systems, with actual test results evaluated as "Passed." The Taipei Parents' Association for the Visually Impaired pointed out that the Shin Kong Life APP's navigation logic and voice presentation can now meet the practical needs of the visually impaired, demonstrating the enterprise's dedication to promoting barrier-free design.

When receiving the certificate on behalf of the company, Shin Kong Life Vice President Liao Chen-hsu stated that with the goal of becoming the first financial company to truly value the needs of all types of disabled groups, Shin Kong Life is gradually promoting various improvement measures for inclusive finance and the fair treatment of customers. The reason for starting with the visually impaired group is that the threshold for this disability is particularly high and poses the greatest challenge. Shin Kong Life not only collaborated with the Taipei Parents' Association for the Visually Impaired but also partnered with the Center of Resources for the Blind at Tamkang University. Through continuous exchanges and training, they aim to understand the precise needs of the visually impaired, hoping to provide them with friendlier service channels. At the same time, Shin Kong Life continues to widely accept feedback from all parties, constantly refining its over-the-counter and digital services, and using the most sincere attitude to make the financial environment friendlier.

Shin Kong Life has long implemented the ESG management philosophy. Obtaining the visually impaired-friendly dual-system certification for its APP this time symbolizes an important achievement of the enterprise in promoting barrier-free finance. Looking ahead, Shin Kong Life will continue to focus on AI innovative applications and continuously optimize digital insurance services, providing customers with a more intuitive, clear, warm, and personalized insurance experience.
