Shin Kong Life Holds Financial Workshops for New Immigrants to Help Enhance Anti-Fraud Financial Literacy

According to statistics from the National Immigration Agency, the population of new marriage immigrants in Taiwan exceeded 610,000 in 2025. They bring diverse foreign cultures to Taiwan and play many important roles in Taiwanese families and society. To enhance the anti-fraud capabilities of new immigrants, Shin Kong Life, a subsidiary of TS Holdings (2887), and the TransAsia Sisters Association, Taiwan (TASAT) jointly organized "New Immigrant Financial Anti-Fraud Workshops" in Taipei, Taoyuan, Changhua, and Chiayi. Through lectures by new immigrant anti-fraud seed teachers, group games, and simulated scenario exercises, the workshops enhanced new immigrants' ability to decipher scam scripts and verify fake news.

The courses in this workshop featured teaching plans designed to address common financial difficulties faced by new immigrants. The content covered teaching new immigrants to identify common fraud types, introducing Taiwan's diverse existing fact-checking methods, explaining the rights of new immigrants regarding taxes and inheritance, and providing relief channels after encountering fraud. The course content was practice-oriented, using case analysis and the understanding of coping strategies to enable them to quickly grasp the knowledge and apply it to their daily lives. At the same time, Shin Kong Life actively supported the financial education empowerment of new immigrants, training the teaching abilities of new immigrants proficient in Chinese. Through assessments, qualified lecturers were selected to become promoters of financial anti-fraud education.

The TransAsia Sisters Association, Taiwan is dedicated to the empowerment, rights advocacy, and policy communication of new immigrants. In 2025, it released the "Survey Report on Institutional Risks of Fraud against Immigrants/Migrant Workers in Taiwan." The report revealed common types of fraud encountered by new immigrants in Taiwan, showing that nearly 30% had experienced job brokerage fraud. The fact that they were easily deceived through introductions by fellow countrymen indicates the structural difficulties caused by their special identity and language barriers in Taiwan. Shin Kong Life stated that immigrant circles highly value the opinions of fellow countrymen. Therefore, it hopes that through workshops taught by new immigrant anti-fraud seed teachers, participating new immigrants can bring what they have learned back to their families and communities. This will enhance the financial literacy and risk prevention awareness of new immigrants and their children, reducing the risk of falling into fraud and financial traps.

Implementing the principle of fair treatment of customers and taking its core financial business and expertise as a foundation, Shin Kong Life has long cared for the financial and living security of new immigrants in Taiwan. To prevent new immigrants from becoming victims of fraud due to a lack of financial literacy and regulatory knowledge, the company collaborated with TASAT to compile common fraud cases involving new immigrants. They commissioned the Pang-phuann Education Association to jointly develop financial anti-fraud teaching materials for new immigrants. Centered on three main themes—"strengthening fraud identification," "fraud fact-checking capabilities," and "post-fraud relief channels"—they empowered new immigrants with language advantages to participate in assessments and become financial seed lecturers. Furthermore, they connected with the Dandelion Care Association in Taoyuan, the New Immigrant Development and Exchange Association in Changhua, and the Fuyuan Service Association in Chiayi County. By sharing experiences through lecturers who share the same cultural context, they hope to establish a trustworthy anti-fraud safety net across Taiwan.

In addition, as Taiwan has entered a super-aged society, Shin Kong Life hopes to eliminate the information gap for new immigrants and exert the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication. Therefore, it partnered with TASAT to launch the "New Immigrants' Long-Term Care Rights Info Pack," hoping to assist more long-term care families in Taiwan and ensure peaceful aging for new immigrants. To eliminate communication barriers for new immigrants in obtaining financial and insurance information, Shin Kong Life introduced a multilingual interpretation service covering nine languages: Vietnamese, Malay, Thai, Indonesian, Burmese, Tagalog, Japanese, Korean, and English. Customers can first call the customer service hotline at 0800-031-115 or visit service locations in person to make an appointment. The Taiwan Association for New Immigrant Family Growth will then match them with professional interpreters to provide financial interpretation services at the designated time. Combined with the upgraded information on Shin Kong Life's official website, new immigrant customers can understand insurance-related information and complete claims applications independently in their mother tongues, thereby reducing the information gap caused by language communication barriers.
